What will we teach?

In college I learned about different early childhood theories about development, from Erick Erickson, Jean Piaget, and Maria Montessori to name a few. Richard and I have discussed how and what we want to teach our future children; responsibility, independence, and creativity have been a few priorities. I’ve been thinking a lot about Maria Montessori’s approach on teaching children. It’s centered around letting children learn about the world in their own way, as well as learning skills to increase responsibility and independence. I love the idea of letting our future children help us cook, make simple meals themselves, dress themselves, and simply enjoy their environment. I have so many ideas on how to incorporate these skills into our home and teach them to our children, I'm excited! I’m passionate about early child education and motherhood.
